Nahshon Joshua


b. 1995

Figurative oil painter, Nahshon Joshua explores themes of Blackness, Queerness, Fantasy, and Sci-fiction. Using these 4 ingredients, they reconstruct socio-political issues into new stories.
The Kansas City native received a B.F.A. from Kansas State in '20. There they became a two-time recipient of the Art Department Merit Scholarship. Nahshon double concentrated in Painting and Printmaking while minoring in Leadership Studies.
In June '20, Nahshon moved to Seattle, WA. In March '21, Nahshon released the debut painting collection:
Remember Our Protectors.
Nahshon is currently working in their Seattle Studio on the next project.
